About Me

Hi, my name is Sarah! I am a junior at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. I am studying biomedical engineering with minors in data science and engineering management. I am passionate about personalized medicine, tailoring medical solutions to individuals’ genetic makeup and leveraging artificial intelligence’s potential to revolutionize the healthcare industry.

I embarked on the STEM path at a young age and have continued to build upon this momentum ever since. In high school, I co-founded Stemology for Kids, a non-profit organization that aims to inspire younger children to become more engaged in STEM by combining STEM principles and environmental science in interactive virtual lessons that culminate with a knowledge-based game and experiment.

I am currently collaborating with a graduate student in the Todd Giorgio Laboratory exploring injectable biomaterials for cancer immunotherapy, using loaded cryogels for cytokine delivery to repolarize cancer-promoting tumor-associated macrophages.

I am actively involved in the Society of Women Engineers as the Philanthropy and Service Chair, Kappa Delta as a Philanthropy Assistant, Kappa Theta Pi, Chabad, and Tikkun Olam Makers.

Outside of my academic pursuits, you can find me exploring new cities through their food, culture, and hiking trails, or playing word puzzles. I am an avid dog lover, folk music enthusiast, and keen baker. I love to read and am always looking for new books to check out.
